Giants Playing UglyBall

Nothin' like a Giants postseason loss to get the profanity a-flowin', eh? I took off from work after Bonds made an out in the eighth inning. Got home in time to see the Giants go quietly in the ninth. It's so frustrating, especially because we had a 4-1 lead and things were looking great. It'd be another thing if the Marlins came right out and just whacked us from the get-go.

Marquis Grissom comments on the erratic fielding yesterday.

So now it's the next day. We have another game tomorrow. We fix what we messed up, and move on. And just hope that the Giants don't lose to yet another wild-card team in the playoffs.

Just watched the last inning of last night's A's-Red Sox game, on tape. I actually went to bed before the game ended; that doesn't happen often. But I was dead tired. Great 12th inning; Eric Chavez makes a great play on Gabe Kapler's liner to third and gets the force to end the threat, and then Ramon Hernandez plops down a nice bunt to get the winning run home from third.

But the three-man ESPN crew of Dave O'Brien, Dave Justice and Jeff Brantley was too much. Too much talking from Brantley and Justice. Way too much. Guys--Google "silence" and see what comes up.

Disappointed in the Cubs not being able to bounce back late against Atlanta. I really don't want to see the Braves win. And it was a huge win for Atlanta, not just because they'd have been down 2-0, but because had they not won yesterday, the series would have effectively been over. Mark Prior will defeat them in Game 3.
